Heat recovery for an apartment after renovation
Apartment in a masonry building after a full renovation. The ductwork had to fit within the already-designed suspended ceilings.
Scope of Work
The owners wanted ventilation without opening windows onto a noisy street. The renovation was already underway, so the only space left for ductwork was within the suspended ceilings.
- Survey of the layout and verification of available space in the suspended ceilings
- Design of air volumes for individual rooms
- Central heat recovery unit in the utility room
- Ductwork with flat ducts and noise attenuators at the unit
- Flow balancing at the diffusers including a protocol report
Outcome
The apartment is ventilated continuously without windows open onto the street. Unit noise remained below the level audible in living spaces.
